I've been coming to this park(once was a golf course) for quite sometime, when I got into 1/6 scale WW2 figures. I always want to do a diorama with some buildings, small in scale trees, etc...
Awhile back last year, could across this pretty looking electric cover at the park. Thought to myself, this would be really cool to do a dio at, so contacted a friend to see if he would be interested in doing one at this spot. So here's what it looks like, there's a pond not to far from it. Say about 20 to 40 feet away. A nice view of it from where this area give you the ideal of a D-Day diorama[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]ama.

Before doing the dio, I need to take the weed trimmer,  bug killer to the area. Cut around the edges,  make a couple of paths. That should do it.....

David,

Here's the other side of that box cover, that I mentioned.[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

If you look close, you can see what I was saying about the D-Day Diorama.
The pond is not full like it should have been..?? But you get the ideal.

Stick a Radar Array on top of that and you got a Saving Pvt. Ryan Dio.

I think that you have found a great spot for a LOT of dioramas. If you can, make a "cover", for the open cinder block, That would be the entrance" for it with guards, sandbags, etc. I can envision vehicles with Generals, Field Marshals, etc arriving and departing from that point.

A suggestion is to take measurements of the cinder block and then use styro foam housing insulation ,to make a "concrete" entrance way. once you cut out the pieces necessary, take some aluminum foil, roll it up in a ball and roll it all over the pieces making the right texture, inside and outside.before painting. Just remember DO NOT USE Model Paint spray can unless it is an acrylic. I would suggest buying a small bottle or a larger one of an acrylic paint in the arts section of Michael, A.C. Moore, or some other place like that. After that dries, you can weather it properly. Good luck, my friend!

I'm going to try that, do you have some photos of what that's going to look like. Just for reference.

Not really Ken. I was winging it, as a suggestion. You can put something together, I'm sure.
