Panzer II Ausf. A/B/C

Left to right: Private loader/radio operator private, Gefreiter driver and Unteroffizier commander.

This is a 2nd Company, Light Platoon Panzer II of any panzer division in the Eastern Front in the time frame of summer of 1941 to summer of 1942. It is the typical Eastern Front PzII, with angular front, extra armor in the front area of the chassis, extra armor on the turret front and commander’s cupola. It began as a pre-built DML PzII in DAK colors. Painted it Panzer gray and added some extras. It has the large bin on the right fender, extra road wheel and extra track links up front. The front, rear Notek, extra barrel, fire extinguisher and jack block are from Armorpax. The tools are from the stock kit, removed and the latches worked to make them look more to scale. I simply make the latches thinner with the XActo blade and a small file. Also built a jerry can holder on the right fender with styrene and the cans are from DML. The markings are painted on with stencils and finished by hand.
For the crew I used, as in the recent PzIII’s crew, DID early HS. Always looking for variety as using DID HS that I had never used, I make sure that I will not have twins down the line meeting on the field!
Did not paint any Divisional insignia so I can use to represent various units.

WOW E!....another wonderful work of art...
Great early war collection you are getting going there.
Some of these shots look 1:1, and could easily fool even the trained eye.
Thanks for posting, and as always, your a true inspiration.

The muffler/exhaust work is Top Notch! Something I still have not mastered.
Did you use pigments?

Eduardo
You never fall to amaze me with all of your vehicles and figures. This is no expection, the detail work is absolutely amazing..!! The weathering  is outstanding as well, then there's the crew. Their uniforms are on point. Very Happy

If not for us moving, I would like to finally get mine completed. It won't come next as yours. But I'll most definitely give it a try.

P.S.- What type of pin do you have in your track links..?? Plastic or Metal

Thanks for the comments guys.
On the muffler, no pigments. Spray painted dark brown then oversprayed some rust and red brown with the air gun and some dry brushing adding Desert Yellow to the mix and ending with only Desert Yellow.
The model began as a pre-built DAK, and the track links came with plastic plugs. Painted it all dark brown then over sprayed flat earth, red brown and the dry brushed with gunmetal and a light touch of gunmetal/chrome silver...

Did not add the wheel retention pieces from ECA, just looked it up to see what it was. Wheels are not glued but they fit in tight enough that they are not going to fall off.
