This is my latest outdoor photo shoot.
Not a recreation, but obviously inspired by the well known images of Knittel and Leidreiter on December 18, 1944. I can’t model winter, but I tried my best…
No new vehicles included, all have been previously posted. What is new in the neighborhood are the unbelievable walls by Doug Blackwell. The figures are all from the “figure pool”, except for the Knittel figure. I had posted it with a bland cloth jacket and decided to give him a custom(he loved unusual pieces!) leather jacket. Not anything like the image but more in his apparent style.

Dec. 18, 1944 Monday afternoon...SS-Obersturmfuhrer Hans-Martin Leidreiter, commander of 3/Pz.AA1 (left) and SS-Sturmbannfuhrer Gustav Knittel, commander of Kampfgruppe Knittel consult maps at the small hamlet of La Vaux-Richard about one mile southeast of Stavelot. Kampfgruppe Knittel, 1.SS-Panzer-Division's reinforced reconnaissance battalion was supporting Kampfgruppe Peiper further to the west.

Thanks for posting your dios here, as I have stated in the past, you are a true inspiration to all of us in the hobby, and a master modeler.
I think I have a "crush" on that command car...I just cant seem to take my eyes off of it...lol
And those new walls add the extra touch of "spice" to the already delicious recipes you create.

Eduardo Fantastic Job. The setting is perfect. On the other side, as for simulating snow. Try doing what I did at the museum for the Ardennes, Battle Of the Bulge dio. The Snow that you can by in a spray can to put on Christmas trees works great. three cans covered an area of about 8' x 16'. Whats even better is it washes off with water and doesn't hurt the real ground work. The 234/3 looks perfect in the shoot. Too

Actually snow is not a problem. The problem is the green surroundings and trees with leaves that are not evergreens. Early on in the Ardennes offensive there was very little snow, later it came down in buckets I guess, but the images of the 18th are not snow covered. But this is one of, as I know it looks odd, but had to give it a try...
If I ever make a whitewashed vehicle, and eventually I will do one just to have the type represented in my collection, I will get a small area covered with snow and we'll see what it looks like then. Will keep in mind the Christmas tree snow. Used to love the stuff when I was young as for a while as even though I was the youngest in the family, I was the one who put up the tree for about a decade at home. Christmas trees were different then(the ones that arrived to PR anyway). They had layers of branches and open spaces. These days the trees are solid branches with no gaps in between the branch levels. The old type would be great as ornaments would hang nicely. Then at the end the snow and tinsel made it look like it had just snowed inside the house. Tinsel used to be the worst part as it had to be laid carefully int he edges of the branches. Have not seen tinsel in a LONG time! jajaja!

I'm really impressed with this diorama, you really know how to create scences of past events  and the storylines as well. Figures and vehicles are always great to see. Those "walls" of Doug's are just Outstanding...!! Great uses of them in your display.  
At some point, I'm going to need a couple of them myself.
