RIP Mike Stannard
Just got done reading a post on another forum that Mike passed several weeks ago due to his illness. I never ordered any parts from him because I just could not afford them, but he made many really great stuff. I know his talents are going to be greatly missed in the 1/6th world...

This hobby will surely miss him...
I was just on the phone with him about a month ago, and he was in high spirits dispite his illness.

I use to talk to him myself, purchase parts from him right before he got sick. He was a truly unique gentleman, talented craftsman.
He well surely be missed....
You can finally rest with the grace of God.

Mike was one of the Greats in the 1/6th world, his research into his products was above and beyond. He had stopped by the house several times to help me on builds and point out the little things I had missed. He built the Hull for my Sturmtiger and helped me with the correct measurments on the barrel. I think every one of my builds had some of his parts on it.
Mike You Will Be Missed.
Rest in Peace, Bill and Alexandra

I read the post on Mike's passing earlier today. I am very sorry to hear the news of his passing. He was one of a kind. Helping others in the Hobby as he did. He was a unique Man, surely and sorely missed. Rest in Peace Mike. My thoughts and prayers to his Family and Friends.

If anyone has photos of you and Mike together, feel free to post them.
I know he has touched so many in this hobby with his talents, I would be honored to see them.

I never knew Him. Saw a lot of his creations though. He will most defiantly be a very missed person. My Prayers go out to all of his family

I bought parts from him they were great, easy to assemble correctly, and if you had a problem he took care of it. Rest in Peace Mike.

I went over to his site, the site is closed. Does anyone know if his relative plan to continue with the operations. .?? Just curious if they are or not....

This was posted over at SAG by Steve panzerwerk. The site will be down for a while while the family gets things back together.

It was a deep personal regret that you had to hear from Michael J. Stannard’s passing away from someone else and not from us. Please understand and believe that it was out of our control. We are unable to log into his emails, website and so forth but we finally made contact with Steve Hoeger who has been kind enough to help us. As you all know that Mike was struggling with leukemia since 12/2013. The DRs had informed him on 7/8/14 that he was diagnosed with stomach cancer also. He was placed on hospice that same week but passed on that Saturday. He had wished to be cremated and that was granted. We grieve his death but cherish his memories and find comfort in knowing that he was loved by all his friends. Thank you from the family for the condolences as they are so much appreciated and needed. We are only able to read all these comments and it brings us peace.
We saw Mike work with such pride and he was so happy doing this kind of work. I recall going with him to the shop and he just couldn’t wait to start. He was a workaholic and so to us it was hard to see him weak and sick and unable to work. He would still try and go to the shop but it was so impossible sometimes. We just want to inform you that 6th Scale Icons is not shut down. We want to assure you that it is still open. We thank you for your support, Ray .

Re: RIP Mike Stannard
Say Bill,
Thanks for the information, at some point. I would like to purchase a couple of items when their running again.
Still hard to believe he's gone, but he's in a restful place.
Thanks Bill.
