Yesterday it rained from about 10:30 to 21:30 { HARD, VERY, VERY, Hard } This was the result. Thank God I have Insurance with a separate rider on the Hobby stuff.

Damn, you weren't kidding...!!
Hope nothing was really destroyed beyond repair.
More rain is expected today, if the freeways are flooded like they were. Then I can only imagine what others basements look like. All the News stations reported how bad it was. Thank goodness for insurance. Hope things turn right for you.

OMG! Dave, I am very sorry that this has happened to you! I hope that this can all be cleaned up and put right with the insurance. I certainly hope that any rain that is headed your way, does NOT add to this problem.
I just saw on the local news that most of that heavy rain is headed our way, soon. Hopefully, no one else will have to deal with issues like yours.

Man, when it Rains it Pours. Thats why I live were the earth quakes are. We shake and rattle and roll, but I can go in and pick up my stuff. Now hope the insurance does not give you the "Oh Well" that was not covered in the the small print.

Damn!!!!! I hope the items that are still in the boxes can still be saved. Some of that stuff you can't find any more and if you do find it people want an arm and a leg for it.

Well Finally got word as to what was covered and not covered. My RENTERS INS. doesn't cover this kind of shall I say DESASTER, so all of my personal items are a TOTAL LOSS. On MAYBE A BRIGHTER NOTE I had two additional riders on the Models and figures. Have a meeting with My Ins Guy this Tuesday to find out just what will be covered. TIME TO GO TO CHURCH AND DO A LOT OF ""PRAYING""------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Re: DESASTER HAS STRUCK: The Great flood of 2014
Well its official No Ins Help, not even with the two Additional riders. just don't cover flooding. Last night I finally decided to open the Randy Kalian's M3 Halftrack box, I'm so glad I did too. If I had waited any longer that one would have been a total loss too. I just spent the from 21:30 to 01:30 and 06:00 till now wet sanding all the metal sheets. They really started to rust and pit really bad. Especially the 2 top and bottom sheets. I guess I got luck on this one. But I will still have to now keep a close eye on the kit, as everybody knows once good old uncle rust starts he never stops

That is just the way it always plays out. They always have the small print that no one can read. Great catch on the Halftrack. Wipe it down with some light oil for now

I'm sorry to hear that the Insurance was no help to you at all. I am glad that you opened up that Halftrack kit and were able to save it.

Hey Dave if you want I can come up and help you strip and clean your figs. Don't throw them out you can clean them. But if you are going to trash them let me know and I'll come take them off your hands. I can swing by.

Re: DESASTER HAS STRUCK: The Great flood of 2014
Chuck Thanks for the offer. However they are all ready gone. About 24 hrs after I recovered them Arms, Legs and Hands started to Fall off on top of the paint dissolving on the faces, even had a plastic dust pan that fell apart. I don't know what exactly was in the water but it must have been very bad. Example What ever critter ventures into the Dumpster, only makes it a few feet away before it dies. Never in my life saw that happen before.

Hi,
I am so sorry to hear that the insurance was no help, but this always seems to be the case. Until you have to claim, do you really know what you are covered for.
